This year, the kids had a large role in getting the tree decorated. Sierra, who was assigned the top half of the tree, is quite a perfectionist (hmm, I wonder where she gets that from?) and takes great care in finding just the right spot for each ornament. Cameron, who got the bottom half, is now old enough NOT to hang them all in the same spot. In fact, he showed quite a flair for strategic placement. Aside from a few arguments between them. . .Mom, Sierra just grabbed an ornament out of my hand!. . .they did a beautiful job.

One of six vintage inspired glass car ornaments.
I received this one at my cookie exchange this year. Isn't he cute?
A friend gave me this one about 5 years ago. It's still one of my favorites.
Cameron's favorite.
I bought only one ornament this year. . .a lovely sparkly key.
Of course, I must have birds on my tree.

Our mantel with stockings made by Nana (my paternal grandmother) and a "Teddy Bear" garland I made.

Aww...I love your tree ornaments. Just beautiful. The teddy bear garland is too cute. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tree. And I love your new ornament - snowmen are my favorite! :)
ReplyDeleteIs this tree real? If not, I'd love to know which artificial you got because it is really stunning. Happy holiday prep!
Thanks ladies! No, the tree isn't real. It's a Timberline 7' Scotch Pine that I got at Target several years ago. It's the kind you have to poke each branch in to a little hole in the trunk. If I were to do it again, I'd probably get one with the lights already on it but they weren't that popular back when I bought this one. This one has held up so well over the years, it still looks brand new.
ReplyDeleteI always like looking at your Christmas decorations and tree. I love the vintage inspired glass ornaments. I have my book club tonight where we have our ornament exchange. (I bought a blown glass flamingo with feathers) shhhh don't tell.
ReplyDeleteWe get a real tree, we have to support the tree farmers. :D and we don't have the place to store it! I will have to post mine real soon!
Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
Thanks for the info Robyn. I'll have to seek out one of those trees.
